STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math)
At our school we use the engineering design process to engage students in the areas of novel engineering, coding, architecture and life sciences. We also created an outdoor STEM learning enviornment, which includes a mud kitchen to engage students in STEM using the outside environment.
Our outdoor STEM learning environment features:
- Architecture (bldg environment)
- A five-senses sensory garden
- Flower chalkboards
- A large group instruction area
- A mud kitchen
- Tables and chairs for small group work
- Two apple trees
- Native Missouri plants which attract insects, butterflies and birds
